In recent years, state officials in Texas have been putting everything on the line for the rest of the country.

Attorney General Ken Paxton has stood particularly strong against the Biden administration’s efforts to keep the border open.

And Ken Paxton just stood up for free speech with a monumental filing against the federal government.

Twitter Files exposed secret censorship campaign in 2022

When Elon Musk took over Twitter in 2022, Americans quickly realized that social media companies were colluding with political parties and government agencies to suppress the flow of information online.

The so-called Twitter Files became one of the biggest corruption stories in modern day politics.

Troves of internal documents released by the new owner of Twitter showed the response to the Hunter Biden laptop and the decision to ban Donald Trump from speaking to his followers online.

Media outlets pushed back on the allegations by trying to claim that the decisions were made internally.

But emails from the Biden campaign showed the direct requests were granted by Twitter employees.

“More to review from the Biden team,” one internal email read.

“Handled these,” the Twitter safety team responded.

But the Texas Attorney General said there is a much bigger problem with censorship in America.

Filing by Paxton suggests the censorship problem is much bigger than social media

Attorney General Ken Paxton is accusing government agencies of conducting a censorship program that makes the Twitter Files look small and insignificant.

The filing details “one of the most audacious, manipulative, secretive, and gravest abuses of power and infringement of First Amendment rights” in our history.

Paxton said the U.S. State Department used the Global Engagement Center (GEC) to stop major media organizations from reporting the truth to the American public.

The GEC was created to protect our nation from “foreign state and non-state propaganda and disinformation efforts,” but the suit argues that they used it against American companies.

The complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas asserts that GEC sought to exert its power on American media companies through blacklists of outlets who ran stories that contradicted the official government position on a variety of topics.

Paxton plans to put an abrupt halt to these egregious actions.

Paxton vows to protect America from “tyrannical federal government”

Paxton accused the State Department of using its “resources and tools of warfare—information warfare—which were developed in the context of national security, foreign relations, and to combat American adversaries abroad” to push back on “domestic political opponents.”

He said the tools are being employed to limit the reach and revenue of any company that promotes “viewpoints conflicting with federal officials,” and he is hoping to restore their rights as protected under the First Amendment.

Paxton released a statement following the lawsuit that said “the State Department’s mission is to obliterate the First Amendment” and it is completely “un-American.”

“I am proud to lead the fight to save Americans’ precious Constitutional rights from Joe Biden’s tyrannical federal government,” he added.
