Joe Biden did a complete 180 on one major policy over fears of an election loss

Nothing goads a politician into changing course like self-preservation.

For the nation’s most prominent Democrat, this move really has to sting.

And Joe Biden did a complete 180 on one major policy over fears of an election loss.

Joe Biden hasn’t secured the border because he simply doesn’t want to.

He talks a good game about how his hands are tied and how Congress must pass the amnesty bill that was just tanked by Congressional Republicans.

But the simple and irrefutable fact is that our nation’s security, and that of a vast array of Democrat-run sanctuary cities, would be in much better shape if Biden simply did nothing once he assumed office.

Of course, that’s not what happened.

According to the Migration Policy Institute, the Trump administration had undertaken more than 400 executive actions on immigration.

Those actions included tougher border and interior enforcement, restricting asylum, rolling back Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), slashing refugee visas, streamlining immigration courts, and creating the Remain in Mexico protocols.

On Day One of Biden’s Presidency, he set to work dismantling Trump’s policies that were effective at keeping immigration to comparatively manageable levels.

Only 18% support Biden’s handling of immigration

Americans aren’t buying Biden’s attempt to blame Trump and Republicans for the current mess we are in on immigration and the border.

According to an ABC News/Ipsos poll from January, Biden’s rating for handling immigration is a dismal 18%.

63% disapprove of Biden’s handling of immigration.

This means that the White House has found the desperate need to tweak their messaging.

The White House is now calling for “sanctuary” cities to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in turning over criminal illegal immigrants for deportation.

White House: All those sanctuary cities we cheered on for years should really be helping ICE

A White House spokesperson told Fox News that “we welcome local law enforcement’s support and cooperation in apprehending and removing individuals who pose a risk to national security or public safety. When a local jurisdiction has information about an individual who could pose a threat to public safety, we want them to share that information with ICE.”

This is something that would have been unimaginable a year ago, but it’s obvious they are bending to political realities, particularly after 22-year old nursing student Laken Riley was allegedly murdered by an illegal alien who “disfigured her skull.”

In another blow to the Biden Presidency and their de facto open borders policy, United States Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas was impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives on February 6 for a “willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law.”

In the end, the change of heart from the White House is too little and too late.

After three years of allowing record numbers of illegal immigrants to enter the country, the American people know that Joe Biden is responsible for the current border crisis.

For that, he has every reason to fear the verdict of the voters this November.
