Senator Mike Lee of Utah was first elected as part of the Tea Party movement in 2010.

One of the top priorities of the Tea Party platform was abolishing unneeded or unconstitutional federal agencies.

But Senator Mike Lee called for the end of this federal agency and then this vile thing happened to him.

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) calls for abolishing the TSA

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was launched after the 9/11 attacks as part of the Department of Homeland Security.

American taxpayers fork over $9.70 billion annually to fund the TSA’s more than 47,000 employees.

Along with the Internal Revenue Service, the TSA is one of the most universally reviled federal agencies in existence.

Many politicians on the Right have long pushed to reform the TSA.

Recently, Republican Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) went a step further and called for the outright abolition of the TSA.

“It’s time to abolish the TSA,” Lee tweeted. “Airlines can and will secure their own planes if a federal agency doesn’t do it for them,” he continued. “They’ll do it better than TSA, without undermining the Constitution and with less groping—showing more respect for passengers.”

But then Mike Lee had a run-in of his own with the TSA.

Senator Mike Lee singled out for extra screening by TSA

Lee was supposedly “randomly selected” for a security screening three days after he declared that the TSA should be replaced with a private-sector solution.

According to Lee, the TSA pulled him to the side for a pat-down.

“Update: days after calling to abolish TSA, I got ‘randomly selected’ for the needlessly slow, thorough TSA screening and pat-down,” Lee tweeted. “Maybe it’s a coincidence. Or not. Impossible to know. That’s part of the problem with having a federal agency in charge of airport security.”

Several X users responded to Lee’s tweet and pointed out that things could have gone better for him if he were an unvetted illegal alien as opposed to a duly-elected Republican member of the Upper Chamber.

Illegal aliens get a free pass from TSA

Those comments stem from the revelation that the Biden administration has been using the TSA to spread illegal aliens throughout the interior of the United States.

In the summer of 2022, some tough questioning from Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) forced TSA Administrator David Pekoske to admit that thousands of illegal aliens – without any proper identification – have been boarding planes to fly to self-proclaimed “sanctuary cities.”

Pekoske added that the illegal aliens use their arrest warrants or deportation orders in lieu of identification.

“How does this policy comport with 13 USC 1325, which criminalizes improper entry into the United States by an alien?” Hawley asked.

“We aren’t looking at whether a person is legal or illegal in the country, our function is to,” Pekoske started to respond before Hawley interjected.

“Because our role is to make sure that people that might pose a risk to transportation, that’s significant enough to either require enhanced screening or to not allow them to fly,” Pekoske replied.

Pekoske then compared the illegal aliens to American citizens who have broken the law at some point in their life.

Apparently, Pekoske’s TSA and the Biden administration believe Senator Lee is a bigger threat to America’s national security than unvetted illegal aliens.
