Joe Biden has always been able to count on having the media in his back pocket.
But that relationship could be changing.
And Ted Cruz made one bold prediction about the media that left Joe Biden frantic.
The relationship between President Joe Biden and the media is changing after they served as his mouthpiece throughout most of his term.
The New York Times ran a series of pieces critical of Biden’s age after Special Counsel Robert Hur released a report that recommended not charging him for stealing classified documents because he’s an old man with a bad memory.
Ted Cruz (R-TX) speculated on his podcast that the media is turning on Biden because they’re coming to the realization that he could lose to former President Donald Trump in November.
“I do think we are seeing the corporate media starting to turn on Joe Biden, and we’ve talked at length, listen, it was this podcast that drove news and drove news across the country, when we said months ago that I believe there was a very significant chance the Democrat Party would pull the cord on Joe Biden, yank him out and replace him with Michelle Obama,” Cruz said.
Some corners of the media have begun to speculate on how Biden could be replaced on the Democrat ticket.
If Democrats can’t find a way to replace Biden, Cruz predicted that the media would pivot to defending him again by calling critics of his fitness to hold office “ageist and racist.”
According to Cruz, Democrats and their media allies don’t care if Biden is still competent enough to serve as President as long as he can win the election.
“The Democrats and the media would be perfectly happy if they could wave a wand and put Joe Biden there for four years or more. They’re not worried that he’s incompetent to be President,” Cruz said.
Biden’s failures aren’t an issue as long as a Democrat is still in the White House.
“They’re not worried that the Department of Justice says he’s not competent to stand trial,” Cruz added. “They’re not worried that he’s such a weak Commander-in-Chief that our enemies are attacking our allies and threatening America. They’re not worried that he lacks the competence to do the job.”
Cruz speculated that Biden is an empty suit and that people behind the scenes are really running the show at the White House.
“There’s only one thing they’re worried about: that he would lose. If they believed he would win, they’d be perfectly fine to Weekend at Bernie’s him, to stand him up as a corpse and say Joe Biden’s there and let’s keep pulling the puppet strings. Their concern is they’re worried he’s going to lose,” Cruz remarked.
The media turning on Joe Biden could be the start of a pressure campaign to try and force him to step aside as the Democrat nominee.
