Joe Biden is moving full steam ahead with his electric vehicle revolution.

But there’s a dark side to it that he doesn’t want the public to know about.

And a top Republican picked a fight with Joe Biden over this scary electric vehicle threat.

Republicans try to stop Chinese battery companies from infiltrating the country

President Joe Biden’s electric vehicle agenda relies on China to make it possible.

The Chinese control the electric vehicle supply chain from the processing of minerals for batteries to the manufacturing process.

A group of Republican lawmakers are asking the Biden administration to block two major Chinese battery makers from doing business in the United States.

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN), and Chairman of the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) John Moolenaar (R-MI) are among the lawmakers asking the Department of Homeland Security to blacklist CATL and Gotion High-Tech.

They sent a letter to Homeland Security Under Secretary for Strategy, Policy, and Plans, Robert Silvers, asking for the two Chinese battery makers to be banned for using Uyghur Muslims as slave labor.

Gotion High-Tech is building battery factories in Michigan and Illinois through a subsidiary with federal and state incentives.

CATL is working with Ford to build a battery factory in Michigan.

The Republican lawmakers want the Chinese battery makers flagged under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), which would prohibit them from importing goods into the country.

Chinese companies use front groups to get into the United States

Chinese companies cover up their supply chains in order to hide their connections to labor violations involving the Uyghur Muslims in the Xinjiang region of China.

“Gotion’s supply chains are deeply compromised by links to entities whose goods, wares, articles, or merchandise are mined, produced, or manufactured wholly or in part in [Xinjiang],” the Republican lawmakers wrote. “As a result, we request it be added to the UFLPA Entity List and its shipments prohibited from entry to the United States.”

The use of forced labor is one of the many problems surrounding Gotion High-Tech.

Gotion’s CEO is a member of the CCP and the company employs more than 900 CCP members.

A 2022 report from the company revealed its extensive work with the CCP.

“Gotion High-Tech founded a CCP branch in 2010 that was upgraded to a CCP committee in 2014,” a company report stated. “The CCP committee’s subunits are two CCP general branches and 11 party branches, currently with 923 CCP members, among which over 50% hold master’s degrees or higher.”

The Midwesterner reported that the company’s Articles of Association show that it’s a wholly owned subsidiary of the CCP.

“The Company shall set up a Party organization and carry out Party activities in accordance with the Constitution of the Communist Party of China. The Company shall ensure necessary conditions for carrying out Party activities. The secretary of the Party committee shall be the chairman,” Gotion High-Tech’s Articles of Association read.

Joe Biden’s electric vehicle revolution is a wealth transfer from the United States to the CCP.
