Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is taking a page from Donald Trump’s playbook and attacking Big Government.

This has led to some Trump supporters seeing him as a possible second choice in the 2024 election.

And the Trump campaign just responded to rumors about tapping Robert Kennedy Jr. for Vice President.

Kennedy Jr. looks to capitalize on “the rising populist movement” in America

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been running on a populist platform similar to Donald Trump.

The anti-establishment politician has been working overtime to capture the attention of as many Trump supporters as possible while pointing out the problems with the current Democrat Party.

“The rising populist movement among Democrats and Republicans is creating a space where everyone can come together. The next President should represent all of America, and help unite on common ground,” he said in a post on social media last July.

After getting pushed out of the primaries by the Democrat National Committee, Kennedy Jr. decided to pursue an Independent ticket and declared that “the labels Republican and Democrat no longer describe America.”

Hypothetical team-up between Trump and Kennedy Jr. could win big

The announcement of an Independent run brought renewed attention to the Kennedy campaign.

Conservative commentators expressed concern that a powerful Independent ticket by Kennedy Jr. might damage Trump’s campaign.

Early polling suggested that the three-way race might give Biden the win.

But the closer we get to the 2024 election, the better it looks for Trump.

A recent poll by Harvard showed Trump beating Biden handily with an 8-point margin in a race split three ways.

In that hypothetical, Kennedy Jr. garnered nearly 20 percent, leaving Biden at just 33 points.

The one circumstance that could make it a total blow-out by Trump isn’t even being polled.

Some political pundits say that a potential Trump-Kennedy ticket could be the unity ticket that many are looking for and would put the final nail in the Biden campaign’s coffin.

In that match-up, it’s safe to say that the pair would easily take well over 50 percent of the vote.

Some even speculate that Biden would remain at 33 percent or lower.

And rumors started swirling last week that this ticket might just happen.

Trump campaign responds to rumors of Kennedy Jr. serving as Vice President

A recent article by the New York Post suggested that the Trump team is actively seeking to invite Kennedy Jr. onto the ticket as a running mate.

The report said that “Trump operatives expressed an interest in Kennedy early on, but it was all premature.”

But a senior adviser to Trump’s campaign just shot down the idea in a blistering post on social media.

“This is 100% FAKE NEWS – NO ONE from the Trump campaign ever approached RFK jr (or ever will) – one of the most LIBERAL and radical environmentalists in the country,” Chris LaCivita wrote.

Kennedy Jr. also addressed the potential of the two working together in a post last year.

“Just to quell any speculation, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will I join Donald Trump on an electoral ticket,” he said.

The Independent candidate cited “fundamental issues” and their “approaches to governance” as points of divergence that neither candidate would be able to get over.

While some people enjoy imagining a world where we see a “unity ticket” with another anti-establishment candidate, the reality is that it’s probably not Kennedy Jr.
