Conservatives had high hopes for Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House.

But now they’re facing yet another betrayal from Republican leadership.

And Rand Paul revealed one dark secret about Mike Johnson that will leave you speechless.

House Speaker Mike Johnson betrays conservatives

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) rose from obscurity to become the top Republican in the House.

He had a record as a conservative in office, but things went off the rails once he became Speaker.

Johnson cast the deciding vote to kill an amendment to the reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) that would have required a warrant to spy on Americans.

He had been opposed to FISA before he became Speaker.

During an appearance on Fox News Sunday, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) said that Johnson “completely changed” his conservative principles once he got into leadership.

“People have to be strong in their convictions. He was seen as a conservative before he came to the speakership,” Paul said. “He’s completely changed and lost all his principles on the idea that we shouldn’t spy on Americans without a warrant.”

Johnson betrayed conservatives to look out for the political priorities of the Swamp.

“Speaker Johnson was incredibly wrong,” Paul said. “He broke the tie. He voted with the Democrats. Here we have the leader of the Republicans in the House voting with the Democrats against a warrant requirement.”

Mike Johnson is working with Democrats to fund their agenda

Johnson voted for an omnibus spending bill in March that funded the government and President Joe Biden’s political priorities at a higher level than former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

Johnson and the Democrats voted for the bloated spending while the majority of House Republicans voted against it.

“We also have Speaker Johnson voting for the spending package once again with a majority of the Democrats,” Paul explained. “As I see it now, I’m not so sure there’s a difference between Mike Johnson being in charge and the Democrats being in charge.”

According to Paul, there’s now almost no difference between Johnson and Democrats.

“Johnson hasn’t held his ground,” Paul continued. “He has power. He has a majority. Use the power of the purse. Speaker Johnson, do something to make us think you are different from the Democrats. But so far I don’t see a lot of difference.”

Johnson folded like a cheap suit on FISA and government spending.

And he caved on his promise to tie border security to any funding for foreign aid to Ukraine.

Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) are supporting a measure to oust him from Speaker through a motion to vacate.

Mike Johnson betrayed the conservative values that he claimed to support as Speaker.
