Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer made the biggest mistake of his life.
Democrats don’t even know what’s about to hit them.
And Chuck Schumer just handed Donald Trump a win that will drive Democrats insane.
House Republicans jam Democrats on immigration
House Republicans passed two Articles of Impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
This was the first time in more than 150 years that Congress impeached a Cabinet official.
One of the Articles charged Mayorkas with “the willful and systematic refusal to comply with the law” by facilitating a human trafficking operation that saw more than seven million illegal aliens enter the United States.
The second Article of Impeachment accused Mayorkas of perjuring himself before Congress when he falsely claimed that the border was secure.
A Senate impeachment trial means that the Upper Chamber does nothing else except hear the case made by House impeachment managers and the lawyers who are tasked with defending the impeached official.
That means the media would be forced to cover Joe Biden opening the border up to the largest wave of illegal immigration in human history followed by vulnerable red state Democrats like Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Jon Tester of Montana, Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin casting votes to acquit Mayorkas and putting their stamp of approval on open borders during an Election Year.
With Republicans only needing to flip two Democrat-held seats to win back the majority, an impeachment trial for Mayorkas held the possibility of political doom for Schumer.

Even though the Constitution requires the Senate to hold a trial – no matter how brief – Schumer knew a media spectacle where the American people saw nothing else coming out of Washington, D.C. other than Joe Biden’s open borders agenda put on trial could kill any chance he had of keeping the Senate.
That’s why Schumer announced plans to table the Articles of Impeachment and not hold a Senate trial.
“I will seek an agreement for a period of debate time that would allow Republicans to offer a vote on trial resolutions, allow for Republicans to offer points of order, and then move to dismiss,” Schumer announced.
“Let’s not kid ourselves about what’s going on today. The impeachment of Alejandro Mayorkas has nothing to do with crimes and misdemeanors and everything to do with helping Donald Trump on the campaign trail,” Schumer added.
Conservatives warn Democrats they will come to regret this precedent
Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) warned Democrats that they would come to regret allowing the majority to ignore the Constitution and refuse to hold impeachment trials because Republicans would now understand that these are the rules.
“So this will be the precedent going forward. Impeachment as a Constitutional matter is effectively dead now. They just killed it,” Hawley stated.
Hawley noted that Democrats claimed Mayorkas being charged with committing a felony was not a high crime or misdemeanor after impeaching President Trump based on the Ukraine hoax.
“In 2020, Dems voted to impeach Trump without even charging a crime. Today they voted that a *felony* CANNOT be an impeachable crime. It’s beyond absurd,” Hawley declared.
Democrats should be careful what they wish for.
In 2013, Democrats nuked the filibuster for lower court judicial nominations.
Republicans warned they would come to regret that move.
And in 2017, Democrats learned the hard way when Republicans used their own precedent to eliminate the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees, which paved the way for the Senate to confirm the three Trump Justices who overturned Roe v. Wade.
If Donald Trump wins the Presidency and Republicans control the Senate, then they dismiss out of hand every single Article of Impeachment a Democrat led House sends over without holding a trial.
